Issued to mark the centenary of the Floreasca Emergency Clinical Hospital, one of Bucharest's principal trauma centers and the facility that handled casualties from the 1977 Vrancea earthquake — Romania's deadliest seismic event of the twentieth century, which killed over 1,500 people in Bucharest alone. The hospital's emergency capacity was stretched beyond any designed limit that night in March.
