正面铭文 REPUBLIC OF CHINA 10 KWACHA BANK OF MALAWI
背面描述 The gold-plated bronze centre features a facing bust of Lu Hsiu-lien, 11th Vice President of the Republic of China, wearing glasses and a jacket with a pearl necklace, rendered in moderate relief. To the right of the portrait, her title and name appear in Chinese characters reading '副總統 呂秀蓮'. The date '2004' is inscribed in the lower exergue of the central disc. The outer silver-plated ring bears the commemorative legend in Chinese characters along the upper arc and in Latin script along the lower arc, with small decorative plum blossom motifs flanking the Chinese inscription.

附加信息

Malawi's habit of issuing commemorative bimetallic pieces tied to foreign political events has long puzzled serious collectors — this coin marks the 2004 inauguration of Annette Lu as Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), a relationship rooted in Malawi's formal diplomatic recognition of Taipei over Beijing, which it maintained until 2008 when Lilongwe abruptly switched allegiance. The switch terminated a decades-long aid relationship and rendered this entire commemorative program a footnote to a diplomatic realignment.
