Aanvullende informatie

The 2003 Malawian wildlife series was produced during a period when the Reserve Bank was issuing a significant volume of commemorative bimetallic and plated coinage aimed squarely at the collector market rather than circulation — the domestic economy was far too stressed for pieces like this to see everyday use. Malawi's kwacha had been under severe devaluation pressure following the IMF's suspension of aid in 2001 over governance concerns.

KM#102 is part of a broader eland-themed issue that appeared across multiple denominations in the early 2000s collector series.
