Aanvullende informatie

Malawi's wildlife coinage of the early 2000s was aimed squarely at the collector market, with the chevrotain — a primitive, deer-like ruminant found across sub-Saharan Africa and Asia — chosen specifically for its obscurity. The water chevrotain is the only surviving Old World representative of the family Tragulidae, a lineage that has changed little in roughly 34 million years.
