| Obverse description | The toughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II is set within a circular medallion at the top center, above a central panel of large Ottoman calligraphic text stating the denomination and the note's legal tender status. The entire face is framed by an elaborate foliate and arabesque border with intricate scrollwork at the corners and sides, printed in brown on a light ground with a fine calligraphic guilloche underprint. A small oval seal appears at the lower center of the panel. |
