Bradbury Wilkinson printed this series during a period when Iceland's central banking functions were still consolidated under Landsbanki Íslands — the arrangement that persisted until Seðlabanki Íslands was formally separated as an independent central bank in 1961, which is why notes from this transitional window carry the dual institutional name. Halldór Pétursson's design work for Icelandic currency during this period was notable for its deliberate effort to establish a national visual vocabulary distinct from the Danish-influenced issues of earlier decades.
The watermark remains the sole security feature — modest by contemporary standards but consistent with Bradbury Wilkinson's approach to lower-denomination notes in small-economy contracts of the era.
