Beschrijving keerzijde The central field depicts a detailed engraved view of Skottenborg, identified as the oldest surviving building in the city of Kristianstad, rendered as a low-lying half-timbered structure with steep gabled roofs and multiple chimneys. The architectural rendering is executed in a fine line-engraving style, conveying the historic character of the building. The circumferential legend SKOTTENBORG - STADENS ÄLDSTA HUS arches around the upper portion of the coin, with the date 1980 inscribed prominently at the base of the field.

Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the 400th anniversary of Kristianstad's founding, though the city was actually established by Christian IV of Denmark in 1614 — making it one of the few Swedish cities with an explicitly Danish royal origin. It remained Danish until the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658 forced its transfer to Sweden along with the rest of Scania.
