Obverse description Intaglio-printed portrait vignette of King Gustav I (Gustav Vasa, c. 1496–1560) set within an ornate oval frame at left, wearing a fur-trimmed hat and period costume. The centre of the note carries the denomination numeral '10' within a guilloche rosette above the large gothic lettering 'TIO', flanked by an elaborate engine-turned underprint in pale tones; an oval guilloche medallion occupies the right field. Two manuscript facsimile signatures appear below the central vignette.

Reverse description The Swedish Small Coat of Arms — a crowned shield bearing three open crowns arranged two-over-one in intaglio — is centrally placed against a light underprint field scattered with repeated crowned three-crowns motifs and vertical trident-like ornaments. Denomination numerals '10' appear in ornamental gothic type at the upper right and lower left corners. The background carries the repeated Latin motto 'HINC ROBUR ET SECURITAS' (Strength and Security from Here) as a security underprint.
