| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Margrethe II, depicted with an elaborate braided upswept hairstyle and wearing a pearl necklace, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail. The circular legend MARGRETHE II DANMARKS DRONNING arcs around the periphery, with the mint year and engravers' initials placed in the lower field beneath the portrait. A small heart motif appears between the queen's name and the title on later issues. |
