| Beschrijving keerzijde | A Baroque heraldic shield displaying the three-field coat of arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, surmounted by the Cardinal's galero with pendant tassels and set upon a crowned and draped mantle. The date 1771 appears below the shield, divided by the denomination numeral 10 presented within a circular frame, creating a decorative cartouche typical of Salzburg ecclesiastical coinage of this period. |

Sigismund von Schrattenbach ruled as Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg from 1753 until his death in December 1771 — the same year this piece was struck. He is remembered today largely as the long-suffering patron of the Mozart family, having employed Leopold Mozart for decades and tolerating Wolfgang's increasingly erratic absences with remarkable patience. His successor, Hieronymus Colloredo, would prove considerably less forgiving.
The Archbishopric exercised independent minting rights as an ecclesiastical prince of the Holy Roman Empire, and the Salzburg mint remained active through successive archbishops. Schrattenbach's 1771 issues are terminal pieces of his reign.
