Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle on this square klippe flan, the crowned municipal shield of Colmar is displayed centrally, bearing the characteristic six-pointed star and diagonal bend of the city arms. The date 1535 appears above the shield within the circle. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design between the inner beaded border and the outer rim, reading clockwise.

Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a large crowned double-headed imperial eagle is displayed with wings spread, the heads surmounted by a single imperial crown. An orb bearing the numeral 10 is placed on the eagle's breast, denoting the coin's denomination. The imperial legend referencing Ferdinand I runs continuously around the eagle within the beaded border, invoking the emperor's decree authorising the coinage.
