The Bishopric of Chur maintained minting rights through the Thirty Years' War largely by navigating the fractious politics of the Graubünden, the Swiss canton whose confessional divisions between Catholic, Reformed, and Reformed-leaning communities made it one of the most volatile territories in the Alpine region during this period.
