| 正面描述 | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Joseph II facing right, set within a wreath of laurel branches that frames the entire portrait. The legend encircles the bust along the outer rim, reading in abbreviated Latin the emperor's full imperial titles. A mint mark appears below the bust in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in the neoclassical style typical of late 18th-century Habsburg coinage, with fine detailing on the drapery and facial features. |

Joseph II co-ruled with his mother Maria Theresa from 1765 until her death in 1780, and the tension between them was administrative as much as personal — Joseph pushed relentlessly for centralized reform while Maria Theresa resisted his pace. This 10 Kreuzer issue spans that entire co-regency, produced to feed demand from the Habsburg crown lands as Joseph's rationalizing reforms began reshaping provincial taxation and trade.
The .500 fineness was a deliberate debasement from earlier Habsburg silver standards, part of a broader fiscal policy to stretch metal reserves without abandoning silver coinage entirely.
