Johann Jakob Khuen von Belasi served as Archbishop of Salzburg from 1560 until his death in 1586, one of the longer episcopates of the sixteenth century. His tenure coincided with the intensifying pressures of the Counter-Reformation, and the archbishopric's mint at Salzburg remained active throughout, producing a range of silver denominations as the region navigated confessional politics and the economic demands of a wealthy ecclesiastical principality.
The Zöttl reference places this 10 Kreuzer squarely in the final years of his rule, 1583–1586.
