Francis I ruled the Habsburg lands jointly with Maria Theresa following their marriage in 1736, but his role in Hungarian monetary affairs was largely nominal — the real administrative authority over the mint system rested with Maria Theresa herself. Hungary maintained its own coinage series distinct from the broader Habsburg issues, a political concession rooted in the kingdom's constitutionally separate status, which the Diet had defended aggressively since at least the Golden Bull of 1222.
The decade-long date span reflects continuous production across multiple Hungarian mint facilities, with Kremnitz (Körmöcbánya) carrying the dominant output. H#1810 and H#1811 represent distinct die varieties within the type.
