| Obverse description | Armored bust of Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol facing right, depicted in three-quarter view, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with a ruffled collar and imperial crown. The figure holds a scepter and is shown with considerable detail in the rendering of the armor's articulated segments. A beaded inner border frames the effigy, with the circumferential Latin legend interrupted by the denomination numeral '10' at the base of the bust. The portrait style reflects the Renaissance court aesthetic characteristic of Habsburg Tyrolean coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. |
