Obverse description Central shield bearing the tower arms of Fribourg — a crenellated fortified wall with three merloned towers — displayed within an elaborate baroque cartouche with scrollwork surround. The shield is set boldly in the coin's field, flanked by decorative foliate ornaments. A circular Latin legend encircles the entire design near the rim, reading +MONETA*NOVA+REIPVBL:FREIBVRG·HELVE, identifying this as a new coin of the Republic of Fribourg in Helvetia.

Reverse description A crowned double-headed eagle displayed in the centre of the field, with both heads bearing imperial crowns and wings spread, rendered in the baroque heraldic style typical of early eighteenth-century Swiss cantonal coinage. On the breast of the eagle, an orb or roundel bears the numeral '10' indicating the denomination in Kreuzers. The circular Latin legend GLORIA+IN+EXCELSIS+DEO, meaning 'Glory to God in the Highest', runs around the periphery, with the date 1709 incorporated into the legend.
