Obverse description The obverse features the small coat of arms of Ukraine at centre, depicting the trident (tризуб), the ancient symbol of the Rurik dynasty, set within a rectangular shield with a raised border. Flanking the shield on either side are decorative branches — a wheat ear to the left and an oak branch to the right — rendered in low relief. The Cyrillic legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) arcs along the upper periphery, while the date of issue appears at the bottom of the field.
