Adygea is one of Russia's internal republics, and its "local" coinage issues of the 2010s were produced not for circulation but as collector tokens with no legal tender status under federal law. The Republic has no independent monetary authority — these pieces exist in a gray zone between souvenir and numismatic novelty, issued by private or regional interests exploiting the absence of explicit prohibition.
