Obverse description Central field bears the state emblem of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, depicting a landscape with paddy fields and a forest backdrop, surmounted by a hammer and sickle and a five-pointed star above. The emblem is flanked on either side by bound sheaves of rice, tied at the base with a decorative ribbon. The circular legend 'THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while the denomination '10 KIP' appears in the lower field beneath the emblem.
