| Additional information |
Lufengosaurus was excavated from Lufeng County in Yunnan Province, China — directly across the border from northern Laos — making it a geographically logical choice for this Lao commemorative dinosaur series issued in the early 1990s. The genus was among the first complete dinosaur skeletons assembled in China, described by C.C. Young in 1941 during wartime conditions that severely limited international scientific dissemination of the find.
