Obverse description The right half of the note is occupied by an intaglio vignette of Namdaemun (Sungnyemun), the Great South Gate of Seoul's historic fortress wall, rendered in fine engraved detail with surrounding foliage and its characteristic two-tiered pavilion over the arched stone gateway. Large Chinese characters 拾圜 dominate the centre against a guilloche underprint bearing the Bank of Korea seal in blue, with a red circular official stamp affixed below. Ornate floral scroll borders frame all four sides, with numeral 10 cartouches at the upper corners and Korean syllabic characters 십 and 환 at the lower corners.
