Reshetylivka, a town in Poltava Oblast, has been a center of Ukrainian decorative textile production since at least the 18th century. Its carpet and embroidery traditions were granted UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status in 2020 — the year before this coin was issued — making the timing a direct institutional response to that recognition.
The National Bank of Ukraine's ongoing folk arts series has drawn on regional craft traditions largely overlooked by Soviet-era numismatics, which favored industrial and political subjects.
