附加信息

Issued in 2001 as part of Ukraine's ongoing architectural monuments series, this coin commemorates the Khan's Palace in Bakhchysarai — the former seat of the Crimean Khanate and the only surviving example of Crimean Tatar palatial architecture. The palace served as the administrative and ceremonial center of the Khanate from the mid-16th century until Russian annexation of Crimea in 1783, after which Catherine II ordered a visit to the site, effectively turning a functioning political capital into a imperial curiosity.

The National Bank of Ukraine struck relatively modest quantities in this series, and the 2001 issues predate the broader international numismatic attention that Ukrainian commemoratives attracted after the mid-2000s.
