| Obverse description | The obverse presents a stylized aerial plan of the Genoese Fortress of Sudak, centered within a conventionalized ornamental background, above which the denomination 10 ГРИВЕНЬ appears in the field. Flanking the central motif are two relief figures: a warrior bearing an arbalest (crossbow) to the right and a vine grower to the left, reflecting the fortress's medieval history and surrounding agricultural culture. To the upper right, the small State Emblem of Ukraine (trident) is positioned alongside the country inscription УКРАЇНА above and the date 2003 to the left. Below the central design, the metal designation, fineness, and fine weight are inscribed, together with the logotype of the NBU Banknote Printing and Minting Works. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a detailed panoramic view of the Genoese Fortress of Sudak as it survives today, with the inscription XIV–XV (14th–15th centuries) appearing beneath the fortress walls in the exergue area. Heraldic shields adorning one of the fortress towers bear the coat of arms of a Genoese doge, the Genoese Republic, and the Consulate, rendered with fine relief detail. To the left of the fortress, a period merchant sailing ship is depicted in the sea, evoking the maritime trade legacy of the Genoese colony. Surrounding the composition, a circular legend reads СУДАК (Sudak) in the upper left arc and ГЕНУЕЗЬКА ФОРТЕЦЯ (Genoese Fortress) along the lower arc. |
