Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a powerful allegorical composition juxtaposing the Statue of Liberty (United States) on the left and the Motherland Monument (Ukraine) on the right, both depicted in high relief as draped female figures raising their emblems aloft. The Statue of Liberty raises her torch with flame, while the Motherland figure raises a sword topped with a flame and holds a shield bearing the Ukrainian trident. Behind the two figures rises a jagged, fractured silhouette suggestive of a broken wall or bolt of lightning, rendered against a darkened field. A bilingual legend arcs around the upper periphery: the Ukrainian inscription ВОГОНЬ СВОБОДИ НЕ ЗГАСИТИ! along the left and lower arc, and the English translation THE FLAME OF FREEDOM CANNOT BE EXTINGUISHED! along the upper right arc.

Aanvullende informatie

Ukraine's decision to issue a coin commemorating the American bicentennial-plus-fifty comes from a relationship that sharpened considerably after 2022 — the United States became Ukraine's single largest bilateral military and financial supporter following Russia's full-scale invasion, and this issue sits squarely in that diplomatic context. The National Bank of Ukraine has a consistent pattern of using commemorative silver programs to mark foreign anniversaries when the political alignment is pointed enough to warrant it.

The Declaration itself was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, with the engrossed parchment copy signed over the following weeks.
