Ukraine's decision to issue a coin commemorating the American bicentennial-plus-fifty comes from a relationship that sharpened considerably after 2022 — the United States became Ukraine's single largest bilateral military and financial supporter following Russia's full-scale invasion, and this issue sits squarely in that diplomatic context. The Declaration itself was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, with the engrossed parchment copy signed over the following weeks.
