正面描述 The obverse is printed in green and brown on cream paper, with a central text panel surrounded by a leafy decorative border and a fine crosshatch guilloche underprint. The denomination 'Zehn Heller' is set in bold Gothic blackletter script at the centre, above a redemption clause in smaller type. Two manuscript signatures appear in the lower portion, identified below by the titles 'Gemeinderat' and 'Bürgermeister', with a small ornamental vignette at the foot of the panel.

背面描述 The reverse is printed in brown on cream paper and carries a detailed letterpress vignette occupying nearly the full face, depicting a street scene with tall stone buildings and a tower or gate structure visible in the background, rendered in a fine cross-hatched engraving style consistent with Austrian Notgeld production of the period. A ruled rectangular border frames the composition, with a decorative text panel at the lower margin.

备注

Werfen is a small market town in the Pongau district of Salzburg province, and like hundreds of similarly sized Austrian municipalities, it was forced into the note-issuing business by the catastrophic small-change shortage that gripped the Austro-Hungarian Empire during the First World War. The central authorities simply could not keep low-denomination coinage in circulation — metal was needed elsewhere — leaving local governments to fill the gap with their own Notgeld.

The JPR1173b designation within the Jaksch catalogue suggests this is a second variety within the Werfen 10 Heller series, likely differing from the 'a' type in paper color, overprint, or authorization stamp.
