| Obverse description | Violet-pink tinted note with a large circular vignette at centre, enclosed by a decorative border of grapevine and fruit motifs characteristic of the Wachau region. The vignette presents a pen-and-ink style view of a Gothic church with a tall steeple and adjacent fortified tower amid trees, with wine barrels in the foreground. Denomination numerals '10' appear at lower left and right flanking the inscriptions, with the validity date 'Giltig bis 30. September 1920' at lower right and the issuing authority legend at lower left; the place name 'Weissenkirchen a/. Donau' is set in a framed panel at the base. |

The Wachau notgeld series of 1920 is among the most deliberately artistic of the Austrian emergency issues — a calculated effort by the participating municipalities to produce collectible sets that would be purchased by tourists and philatelists rather than actually spent. Spitz an der Donau, a small wine-producing market town on the Danube, participated under this commercial logic. Liesl Kinzel's involvement places the design work in the tradition of Viennese applied arts, with the Wachau series drawing on regional identity rather than generic allegory.
Göarb Sieger printed the series in Vienna. The JPR1122.13IIa designation suggests this is a sub-variety within a multi-value, multi-variant set — common in the larger Wachau issues where minor printing differences were catalogued separately by Jaksch.
