Opmerkingen

Wachau notgeld occupies a specific niche in the broader Austrian emergency currency wave: these small-denomination pieces were issued by individual market communes rather than municipal governments or banks, giving them a hyper-local character unusual even within the notgeld phenomenon. Spitz an der Donau, a wine-producing commune on the Danube, commissioned designs from a local designer — Rudolf Weber was based in Spitz itself, not imported from Vienna — while contracting Eduard Sieger in Vienna for the actual printing.

The Jaksc/Pick suffix "IIc" indicates this is a recognized sub-variety within the series, suggesting multiple printings or paper variants were issued under the same nominal date.
