One of countless Austrian Notgeld issues printed in the chaotic years following the collapse of the Habsburg Empire, this Viehdorf piece was produced locally by J. Kleint in Amstetten — a printer serving a cluster of small Lower Austrian municipalities scrambling to address acute small-change shortages. The signatures of three municipal officials, including both the mayor and the deputy mayor, were required to give the note any semblance of legitimate authority at a moment when trust in paper currency was threadbare.

The designer, Steffi Reinelt, is otherwise untraced in the standard references — almost certainly a local figure rather than a professional graphic artist.
