Obverse description Printed in violet-purple on cream paper, the note is divided into three vertical panels. The central panel carries a detailed line-art vignette of the Stift Göttweig or a riverside church complex with twin baroque towers set against a hillside, with the denomination '10 HELLER' inscribed on a banner below the vignette incorporating a small eagle. The left panel bears the liability text of the municipality dated 9 April 1920 with facsimile signatures of the Bürgermeister and a council member, while the right panel carries a continuation of the guarantee text; the denomination numeral '10' appears in each corner. A decorative scroll band at the top reads 'Notgeld der Gemeinde' and the bottom reads 'Stadt Stein a. d. D.' in Gothic script.

The denomination numeral '10' is printed in each of the four corners.
