Opmerkingen

Rosenburg is a small settlement on the Kamp river in Lower Austria, best known for its hilltop Renaissance castle. This 10 Heller note is a Notgeld issue — emergency municipal currency printed during the severe coin shortage that gripped Austria in the years immediately following the collapse of the Habsburg Empire. F. Berger of Horn was a regional printer who handled a number of these small-denomination Kamp valley issues, keeping production local and costs minimal.

The Bürgermeister and Vizebürgermeister signatures authenticate the note as a municipal obligation, legally binding on the commune rather than on any banking institution.
