The central panel carries the denomination in Gothic blackletter script as 'Zehn Heller', with a lengthy legal text in German below explaining the issuance authority and redemption conditions, dated 23 May 1920. Large numeral '10' and the word 'Heller' appear in bold blackletter type in the left and right lateral panels, each flanked by decorative barcode-style rectangular vignettes at top and bottom; the issuer name 'Pennewang' and the date 'Pennewang, 23.
