Ollersbach is a small village in Lower Austria, and like hundreds of similarly tiny municipalities, it issued its own Notgeld during the acute coin shortage that followed the collapse of the Habsburg economy. These hyperlocal emergency issues were often printed in runs of just a few hundred, and many were redeemed and destroyed within months — survival rates for village-level Austrian Notgeld can be remarkably low.
J. Kränzle's design credit is unusual at this denomination level; most Gemeinde issues of this scale relied on simple typeset layouts rather than named designers.
