Opmerkingen

Offenhausen is a small market commune in Upper Austria, and this 10 Heller note belongs to the vast wave of Notgeld issued across German-speaking Austria in 1920 as small-denomination coinage disappeared from circulation entirely. The postwar coin shortage was acute enough that hundreds of municipalities — including ones barely large enough to warrant the designation "Marktkommune" — were effectively forced into issuing their own emergency paper. Offenhausen was no exception.

The single signature, Ant. Poschacher, almost certainly represents the commune's Bürgermeister or a designated financial officer rather than any banking authority. No central printing house of note was involved at this level of issue.
