正面描述 Light green guilloche underprint covers the entire field, with the denomination '10 Heller' inscribed in bold Gothic script at upper left and 'Heller 10' at upper right, flanking the issuer title 'Gutschein der Marktgemeinde Oberndorf a. Slz.' in ornate lettering across the top. Two circular portrait vignettes occupy the lower flanks — at left, the poet Joseph Mohr with musical staff and the inscription 'Stille Nacht', and at right, composer Franz Xaver Gruber with musical staff and 'Heilige Nacht' — commemorating the first performance of 'Silent Night' in Oberndorf. A central oval vignette presents a view of the St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf, accompanied by the inscription 'Uraufführung des Liedes Oberndorf 24.XII.1818.'

备注

Oberndorf an der Salzach is best known internationally as the village where "Stille Nacht" was first performed in 1818, but this 10 Heller note belongs to a grimmer chapter. Issued in 1920 as part of Austria's postwar Notgeld wave, it reflects the near-total collapse of small-change circulation that followed the dissolution of the Habsburg monetary system. Municipal authorities across Austria printed their own emergency issues simply to keep local commerce functional.

Locally printed Notgeld from small market towns survives in highly uneven quantities — Oberndorf's issues were produced in modest numbers and saw genuine use.
