Opmerkingen

Austrian Notgeld issued by the municipality of Neufelden in Upper Austria, almost certainly during the 1920 wave of small-denomination emergency coinage substitutes when chronic coin shortages drove hundreds of local authorities to print their own scrip. These municipal issues had no backing beyond local goodwill and were generally redeemable only within the issuing community — which is why so many survived uncirculated in collectors' hands rather than wearing out in trade.
