Beschrijving voorzijde Printed in green on cream paper, the obverse carries the denomination '10 Heller' in bold letterpress at upper left, alongside the municipal coat of arms of Mondsee. The right portion bears a lively folk-art vignette of a crowded market or festival scene with figures in traditional Austro-Bavarian costume, rendered in a flat woodcut-like style. The inscription 'Mondsee in Oberösterr.' appears in Gothic script at lower center, with the designer's name 'Reisenbichler' printed below the inner frame; the entire composition is enclosed within a decorative chain-pattern border.

Beschrijving keerzijde Printed in red-brown on cream paper, the reverse displays the denomination '10 Heller' in bold letterpress at upper left, beneath which a redemption text block in German Gothic script states the validity and issuing authority. To the right, a dramatic woodcut-style vignette shows two figures hauling fishing nets or ropes at a lakeside, with a large tree and mountainous backdrop evoking the Mondsee landscape. The inscription 'Mondsee in Oberösterr.' appears in Gothic script at lower right, with the signature of Bürgermeister Ant. Kaltenbrunner and the designer attribution 'Reisenbichler' printed at the base of the note.

Opmerkingen

A Notgeld issue from Mondsee, a small market town on the Mondsee lake in the Salzkammergut. These hyper-local emergency notes proliferated across Austria in 1920–1921 when chronic coin shortages left small transactions impossible — the central authorities in Vienna were simply unable to supply adequate fractional coinage, and hundreds of municipalities printed their own.

Reisenbichler designed the series locally. Kaltenbrunner's signature as authorizing official appears on the face — he served in the municipal administration during this period. The JPR reference places this within the Jaksch catalog of Austrian Notgeld, which documents the extraordinary fragmentation of emergency currency at the community level during the early First Republic.
