| Opmerkingen |
Austrian Notgeld at its most local — Lichtenberg bei Linz was a tiny rural commune, and its 1920 emergency scrip issue was driven by the catastrophic small-coin shortage that plagued the early Austrian Republic after the dissolution of the Habsburg monetary system. Municipalities across Upper Austria printed their own fractional notes because the central authorities simply could not supply enough low-denomination coinage to keep daily commerce moving.
Hugo Gielge's involvement is worth noting. He contributed designs to multiple Upper Austrian Notgeld series during this period, bringing a degree of graphic consistency to what was otherwise a chaotic patchwork of local issues. Leopold Hemelmayr's signature as the authorizing official pins this to the Gemeinde's administrative record for the series.
The "b" suffix in the Jaksc reference indicates a variant — likely a paper stock or print color difference from the base type.
