| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in blue and black on pale paper, the obverse is enclosed within a dotted border and an ornate lace-like guilloche surround. The central vignette presents a portrait bust of Styrian writer Peter Rosegger within a wreath of edelweiss blossoms, his name inscribed in script above, flanked by two oval vignettes — a woman in traditional Styrian folk dress at left and a man in regional costume at right. The denomination '10 zehn Heller 10' appears in bold blue letterpress across the lower margin. |

Krieglach is a small market town in the Mürztal valley of Styria, and like hundreds of Austrian municipalities it resorted to issuing its own Notgeld during the acute coin shortage that gripped the Habsburg economy from 1916 onward. These local emergency issues were a direct consequence of metal being diverted to the war effort — copper and nickel coins vanished from circulation almost entirely, forcing towns and even individual businesses to fill the gap with paper.
The JPR0480a series covers the Krieglach municipal issues. At 10 Heller this sits at the lowest practical denomination, intended purely for day-to-day market transactions among residents who had no alternative means of making change.
