Opmerkingen

Grossraming is a small market commune in Upper Austria, and like hundreds of similar municipalities it issued its own emergency small change notes — Notgeld — during the acute coin shortage that gripped Austria from around 1919 onward. These hyper-local issues were produced in tiny quantities, often on whatever paper stock was available, authorized by the local Gemeindeamt and signed by municipal officials rather than any banking authority. Krejza and Schraml were almost certainly the Bürgermeister and a council signatory, not financial professionals.

The Jaksch/Pick JPR series covers thousands of such Austrian municipal issues, and the Grossraming 10 Heller is among the more obscure entries — surviving examples are rare simply because few were printed and fewer still were preserved once normal coinage returned.
