A centred text block in mixed roman and blackletter type identifies the designer and printer at the top, followed by the bold headline 'Kassenschein der Marktgemeinde Furth über 10 Heller.' A paragraph of body text explains the purpose and redemption conditions of the issue, stating that the municipality of Furth issued interest-free cash notes totalling 50,000 Kronen to alleviate a small-change shortage, accepted in payment until 30 September 1920 and redeemable in lawful currency between 16 and 30 September 1920. |

Furth bei Göttweig is a small market town in Lower Austria, directly below the Benedictine monastery of Göttweig — and like hundreds of other Austrian municipalities in 1920, it issued its own emergency small change notes, Notgeld, to compensate for the catastrophic coin shortage that followed the collapse of the Habsburg economy. Josef Faber in Krems handled printing for several local communities in the region during this period.
Otto Stoitzner, the designer credited here, came from a family of Austrian artists and was known for his work in applied graphics. The grey-green color variant is one of multiple issues in this series — the color distinction matters for collectors, as the variants were not always issued simultaneously.
