| 正面铭文 | Gutschein 10 Heller Eggenburg 31. Dezember 1920 der Bürgermeister der Bürgermeister der Gemeinderat |
| 背面描述 | Brown letterpress reverse within a double-rule rectangular border, centred by a circular vignette of the historic Eggenburg town seal — a medieval fortified gate with towers — captioned "Stadtwappen aus dem 8. Jahrhundert". Flanking the seal, the redemption text is set in two columns of Gothic script, with an aphoristic verse in larger type across the top reading "Gold in goldener Zeit, und Eisen in eisernen Tagen. Jetzo nur hält uns Papier. Wich' es doch balde dem Gold!". The anti-counterfeiting warning "Die Nachahmung wird gesetzlich bestraft" appears below the border, with the printer's imprint at the foot. |

Eggenburg's 1920 notgeld series was a local response to the catastrophic coin shortage that paralyzed small commerce across Austria in the early postwar years — the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system left municipalities scrambling to fill gaps that Vienna was in no position to address quickly. The Pressevereinsdruckerei, a local press rather than a specialist banknote printer, handled the job entirely in-house, which accounts for the modest production values typical of town-level Austrian notgeld.
Eggenburg issued several denominations in this period. The 10 Heller note, as the smallest unit in the series, would have done the heaviest circulation work — and found the least reason to be preserved.
