| Opmerkingen |
Anthering is a small rural commune north of Salzburg, and this 10 Heller note belongs to the enormous wave of Austrian Notgeld issued by municipalities, cooperatives, and private businesses between 1919 and 1922 to address the chronic small-change shortage that followed the empire's collapse. The central government simply could not produce low-denomination coinage fast enough to meet everyday demand, so thousands of local issuers filled the gap themselves.
S. u. K. Müller was a Salzburg printing house responsible for a number of regional Notgeld issues across the province. The Jaksc reference places this firmly within the documented Austrian emergency money corpus — the JPR prefix identifying it as a provincial issue rather than a municipal curiosity operating outside any cataloguing system.
