| Obverse description | The obverse features the Czechoslovak state coat of arms prominently centered in the field, depicting the Bohemian double-tailed lion rampant surmounted by a shield bearing the Slovak double cross. The newly established Czechoslovak Republic moved quickly to create a national coinage after independence in 1918, but the process of standardizing denominations, metals, and designs stretched well into the early 1920s. Trial strikes like this one were produced to test die performance and planchet specifications before authorizing full production runs — meaning relatively few were ever made, and fewer still left official hands.
The KM# P10 designation places this firmly in pattern territory, distinct from the circulation issue that followed.
