| 正面描述 | The Czechoslovak state arms occupy the centre of the field: a rampant double-tailed lion facing dexter, bearing on its chest an escutcheon charged with the Slovak double cross on a tripartite base, the whole rendered in a bold, slightly stylised socialist heraldic manner. The circular legend REPUBLIKA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ runs along the upper periphery, with the four-digit date arranged horizontally in the lower exergual area. |

The 1953 Czechoslovak currency reform was among the most punitive in postwar Eastern Europe. Citizens were required to exchange old koruny at a rate of 50:1 for amounts above a small threshold, effectively wiping out personal savings overnight. This aluminium 10 haléřů entered circulation as part of the entirely new coinage introduced under that reform — a system designed as much to expropriate accumulated wealth as to stabilize the currency.
