Reverse description The Hessian arms displayed as a shield charged with a rampant lion, draped with an elaborate ermine-lined mantle tied at the top with cords and tassels, and surmounted by a grand ducal crown. Below the shield appears the Order of Ludwig cross. The date, flanked by the mint master's initials H and R, is inscribed in the lower field. The denomination legend ZEHN GULDEN arcs across the upper portion of the field. A fine dentilated border frames the entire reverse.
