The denomination '10 G' appears in the upper field above the arms. The legend 'NEDERLANDSE ANTILLEN' arcs along the right periphery in a vertical orientation, while the date '2001' is positioned in the lower central field beneath the shield. The overall design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-like proof field. |

This piece commemorates Napoleon Bonaparte's brief but consequential reorganization of the Low Countries, which placed his brother Louis on the Dutch throne in 1806 and folded the Netherlands into the French imperial system. The gulden-franc dual denomination reflects that historical monetary overlap — the Dutch guilder and French franc coexisted awkwardly during the Napoleonic period, with French monetary standards imposed on Dutch commerce.
Issued by the Bank van de Nederlandse Antillen rather than the Dutch central authority, it occupies an unusual jurisdictional position for a coin commemorating purely European history.
