正面描述 The crowned coat of arms of the Netherlands Antilles occupies the central field, featuring a shield charged with five six-pointed stars arranged in a saltire pattern, surmounted by a royal crown. The denomination '10' appears to the left and 'G' to the right of the shield. Below, a scroll ribbon bears the national motto 'LIBERTATE UNANIMUS'. The date '2001' is inscribed in the lower field, with the circular legend 'NEDERLANDSE ANTILLEN' along the lower rim. Two mint marks flank the scroll on either side.

背面描述 A high-relief bust of Louis XIII of France (1601–1643) dominates the field, depicted facing slightly left with long flowing hair, a Van Dyck beard, and an ornate lace collar over an ermine-trimmed royal mantle. Superimposed in the lower right portion of the field are two gold-gilded renditions of the Louis d'or of 1640: one displaying the laureate effigy of Louis XIII with the date 1640, and the other showing the reverse with a cross of crowned monograms and fleurs-de-lis. The legend 'LOUIS XIII' appears along the upper left rim, and the dates '1601-1643' along the upper right.

附加信息

The Louis d'or was introduced by Louis XIII of France in 1640 as the first standardized French gold coinage, deliberately modeled on the Spanish escudo to compete in international trade. Its appearance on a Netherlands Antilles commemorative reflects the islands' layered colonial monetary history — French, Spanish, and Dutch currencies all circulated in the region at various points before Dutch administrative consolidation.

KM#66 is part of a broader series issued by the Bank van de Nederlandse Antillen pairing Queen Beatrix with historic coinage types. The 31.1g .925 silver format — essentially a troy ounce blanks — was standard for the series' collector-market positioning rather than any circulating function.
